Stoneage
is a versatile tool for creating photorealistic textures of aged stone surfaces
to taste! A large variety of options are available for creating just the stone
texture you have in mind without spending costly time painting it or
photographing it while still getting superior results! Mix and match colors,
ages, weathering environments, types of stone, material layers and input depth
maps. Mathematical machinery will churn out something that realistically
resembles the description you choose!!! If you don't quite like it, reseed the
random generator, and a new texture will be created with the same basic
attributes, just a different weathering pattern.
One
of Stoneages most fascinating attributes is the ability to create textures that
don't exist anywhere in reality!! Glowing crystals, and your engravements and
coloring of choice. Later versions of Stoneage will also include radically
strange looking materials!!
Output
maps include color, transparency, self illumination shininess, specularity and
depth information, so that renderers can really make the texture look right!
These maps are realistic enough to use for computer aided building
restorations. They will work great for computer games, computer animations, or
to help pep up a tired looking web site!!!
The
in-program help window that you can toggle in and out will help you to
understand all of the parameters and how they affect the resultant maps.
STONEAGE
is currently in a beta status. We are still involved in programming more user
friendliness and squashing the last bugs, so we offer the current version for a
mere 25 dollars (plus shipping and handling). If the public shows adequate
interest, upgrades will be available in the future with more versatility and
map quality.
This
texture is a dark 1000 year old marble. The Stone Age text is an input depthmap
created as a gray-scale bmp image. Black portions of a gray-scale image cause
no engravements. White portions cause the deepest engravements.
